Abstract--The 2016 E-Waste Management Rules represented a significant change in tackling the growing problem of electronics waste. These regulations expanded their coverage to include Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFLs) and other mercury-containing light sources, substantially widening the scope of regulated e-waste. A key innovation was the introduction of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), which made manufacturers accountable for their electronic products' entire lifecycle, from collection to final disposal. This approach diverged from previous methods and aimed to promote sustainable e-waste management practices. The rules moreover cultivated a agreeable biological system including producers, merchants, refurbisher, and Maker Duty Organizations (Masters).
